NO SMOKE Filter Systems
South Fulton, GA March 2023 – Ward Diesel installs 15 NO SMOKE filter systems for South Fulton – GA Fire Rescue.
Fire Chief Chad Jones of the South Fulton – GA Fire Rescue launched a cancer prevention initiative to focus on minimizing exposure to dangerous chemicals and mitigating health risks while his team was on site responding to a fire emergency. According to the International Association of Fire Fighters, “Fire fighter occupational cancer is the leading cause of line-of-duty deaths in the fire service.”
Fire Chief Jones turned to Ward Diesel Filter Systems NO SMOKE filter systems to help accomplish his goals.
The NO SMOKE Solution
Ward Diesel’s NO SMOKE filtration system is an apparatus-mounted, direct source filtration system that automatically filters exhaust to protect emergency responders and fire rescue teams while on site of an emergency.
Ward Diesel partnered with South Fulton – GA Fire Rescue to outfit fifteen apparatus with the NO SMOKE filter system. Ward Diesel sent two experienced technicians to the Georgia location to do the install. The team always made sure to have reserve engines on standby during the installation process so there would be no interruption to regular fire emergency response time.
“This demonstrates how the NO SMOKE exhaust protection systems are the perfect solution for trucks of all ages,” said Bob Thomas, Vice President Ward Diesel Filter Systems. “Of the fifteen total vehicles in the project, NO SMOKE systems were installed on twelve different Pumpers, ranging from a 1999 Freightliner to twin 2022 Spartan Gladiators. The NO SMOKE systems provide vital protection on scene when pump panel operators and firefighters are working around the apparatus.”
